The history of acquaintance with the world leader in production of housing and electrical equipment for industrial facilities by the “Rittal” company goes back to the Soviet era. The subsidiary company of the concern “Rittal GmbH & Co. KG. KG” in Ukraine invited specialists of the “LLC ОGC SERVICE” to visit the head office and high-tech enterprises of the company in Germany.
For the sake of completeness of representing the company’s size, it should be noted that “Rittal” is the largest and most famous subject of the industrial group “Friedhelm Loh Group”, which unites 16 production sites, more than 60 subsidiaries and 40 branches worldwide. It yields products for various branches of industries: energy, transport, medicine, IT infrastructure, etc.
The program of the visit was opened with a visit to the production site in Rennerod. The plant occupies a total production area of more than 7,000 m2 and produces climate control components, refrigeration units and air-to-water heat exchangers for world consumption markets. The plant was founded in 1986, the production is organized with a conveyor method with the elements of manual assembly. The quality of the works performed is checked on all the sections of the conveyor.
The plant in Rittershausen is notable for the fact that the production line is fully automated and manual labor is used only in quality control areas. The main product of the plant is the production of TS8 distribution cabinets. Here, 400 tons of metal are processed per day, and 2,500 universal cabinets are produced. Moreover, the plant’s staff numbers just over 1,000 people. Production area 45000m2.
The final part of the program was a visit to the head office in Herborn. This place is interesting because in addition to the head office, there is an international purchasing and sales point, research laboratories, service departments and quality assurance of the Rittal company are concentrated here.
All visitors are greeted by a huge hall-exhibition hall, in which the most possible examples of Rittal products are presented:
- all-weather cabinets,
- information and technological consoles,
- industrial workstations,
- power current distribution systems,
- structures of various standard sizes,
- embedded electronics systems,
- equipment for microclimate control and much more.
