The problems of functional safety in the processing industry were discussed at the workshop held by the “Phoenix Contact” company on August 3-4 in Kiev, in which some employees of the “OGC SERVICE” company took part.
On the first day of the workshop, the leading experts of the “Phoenix Contact” company Wilfred Grote and Igor Ginzburg told in detail what the risks are in industrial production, how they need to be identified and analyzed. They also informed the audience about the changes in standard IEC 61511 Ed. 2. After the information received, the workshop participants conducted a practical identification of risks using the “HAZOP” analysis.
The second day of the workshop was devoted to the problems of safety control in the processing industry. The requirements (SFF, HFT, PFD) in this area were considered. Also the participants of the workshop had practical work on calculation and verification of PFD (Average probability of failure detection).
At the end of the workshop, “Phoenix Contact’’ employees Arthur Korobov and Yevgeny Shen considered security components of the “Phoenix Contact” company. In particular, the Safety Bridge technique with demonstration of equipment.
The workshop ended with the issuance of certificates.
Now the newest knowledge in the field of functional safety will be applied in practice by specialists of the “OGC SERVICE” company when solving problems in the field of creating automated process control systems for various national enterprises.
